Why Redesign your Website?

If you want your visitor to stay longer than a few seconds on your website, you need to think about how your website looks and feels. Is it user friendly? A clue is to look at your navigation and layout. Can the user find their way around easily? Does your website have fresh content or has it been a while since you last updated it? If so, it may be time to think about redesigning your website.

It is time for a redesign, when

  • your website is outdated, looks tired, has broken links and old content
  • your website is still using Flash, tables and frames
  • your website does not generating enough traffic and the visitors who are coming to your website bounce back

A redesign is not just about going for a new look, its about improving the user experience. And it is a continual process, one of tweaking your website so that you generate more traffic and leads. Its about giving your visitor the best possible experience so they stay and engage with your products/services.

So, before approaching a web designer here are a few things to consider:

  1. when is the best time to do a redesign of your website?
  2. what are your objectives for the redesign and what do you want to achieve?
  3. will the new design be useful to my current customers?
  4. what will be useful to my prospects?
  5. what about the structure of the website?
  6. what about the content?
  7. how can I convert browsing visitors to customers?
  8. do I need to update my content regularly and do you need a content management system?

With the right plan and strategy in place, your web designer can help you reflect the purpose and goals of your website.
